Bel Canto Voices of Power

This choir will take a deep dive into the rich history of Gospel and African American Spirituals by hearing some of the stories behind the songs and learning some of the music by rote. This will help the singers to interpret the songs more authentically. The choir will also sing songs from Africa to discover some similarities of rhythms and intervals still used today. STORYTELLING FOR ALL will take a workshop approach to recalling, creating, fine tuning, and delivering your true stories to an audience. You can create several stories or work on that one story you’ve wanted to tell for years.

The class will culminate in a live storytelling event in which we will each tell a 7 - 8 minute personal story at The Rock Shop in Homewood on 2/25 at 7:00.
